When we sold our home for the first time, I was surprised when my realtor pulled out her phone and took cell phone photos and that’s what went on the market. This was my first experience in selling a home, so I had no idea how it worked. The nonchalance with which the photos were treated just struck me as wrong though. I thought to myself, “That’s It?” The home sold, and we moved on to our lives in Colorado, but it always stuck with me just how little effort was put in.

I started my career as a real estate photographer after being involved in the home loan industry. I had a lot of military clients that were being qualified and they were buying their homes sometimes site unseen. I realized just how little information people truly get about what is potentially one of the biggest purchases of their lives. What does the house really look like? How can you see all the corners of each room? What does the neighborhood look like? I realized that when I moved across states, I didn’t have any of that information either. We ended up renting our first year just so we can understand the area before buying a home.

I saw that drones were just coming into their own and I knew that they would be used for real estate. I ended up quitting my job and getting licensed to fly drones under Part 107. With my business partners Bryan Petty and Tyler Grundvig, I co-founded PixVid in June of 2017. Since our beginning I am proud to say that our company has delivered over 35,000 virtual tours to our clients.

We operate our company with the motto “We care, We listen, We deliver.” We are known for outstanding customer service and timely delivery and for making things right when they do go wrong. You can’t predict the weather but you can count on us to deliver great photos.

After being in thousands of homes over the years, I’ve developed a deep understanding for what it takes to showcase a house and how to market it online. I use photos, walk-through videos, aerials, 3D tours and floor plans to highlight all the important features. I take twilight photos to make the home stand out from the others online. I use vertical reels on social media to engage and attract buyers. I showcase the neighborhood, so they see the nearby schools, parks and walking trails.

My goal is to show the home in the best light and give someone every bit of information they need to potentially make a move across the country and buy it site unseen. That’s the standard I aim for and it takes a lot of work and experience to do it right.
